In creating the Inner City Entrepreneurship Institute, Inner City Advisors seeks to scale its current investment in providing educational opportunities to Inner City Entrepreneurs.
Expanding on ICA’s mission, the Institute’s programming will be based on the highly successful Business Growth Strategy Series from ICA Advisor Michael Bush. The expansion will lead to additional classes which delve more deeply into the topics covered in the Growth Strategy Series, such as Bush’s Eight Factor Analysis, an approach that looks both strategically and tactically at 8 key areas of a business.
The institute will also add a track of courses focused on the implementation of sustainable business practices, and will offer a peer-group network for participating companies to access and share information. Like the Growth Strategy Series, these courses will be taught by proven Business Leaders and Advisors intimately aware of the needs and challenges of Inner City Entrepreneurs.
The first subjects to be expanded into in-depth classes will be:
- Cash flow Management
- Sales and Marketing
- Human Resources
A sustainability track will be explored both as a in-person class looking at broad issues and on-line implementation modules available in a number of different subjects.
Finally, the Inner City Entrepreneurship Institute will create a combination off and on-line platforms. These platforms will offer peer-group networking spaces where participating companies can:
- Interact
- Share resources and information
- View case studies
- Locate resources on financing, templates, governance, best practices, and marketing
- Access video learning segments
The underlying goal of the Institute is to contribute to Inner City Advisors interest in contributing to 5,000 jobs being created by the end of 2013.
“Success for these entrepreneurs is vital, and our vision for economic revitalization is about driving both deep and wide impact. With this new Institute, we are confident that we can go from helping a handful of companies, to helping a few hundred gain access to the tools, strategies & insights needed to grow their businesses, and create new jobs. We believe these are the types of programs needed to realize a thriving inner city.”
-Jose Corona, Executive Director | Inner City Advisors
