ICA assists our Portfolio Companies and local entrepreneurs by providing pro-bono advice, education and resources. In particular, we work directly with management teams to address their challenges in achieving growth and sustainability. ICA Companies enjoy the benefits of the following services:

Each ICA Portfolio Companies is assigned a pool of selected Advisors comprised of select business professionals who work with Portfolio Companies on a regular basis to help reach goals outlined in their Work Plan. ICA provides Portfolio Advisors and Professional Service Providers to help in the areas of:

2. Access to Entrepreneurial Education
ICA’s offers a 10-week Business Growth Strategy Series, and other educational seminars that focus on strategic growth, operational, workforce development, financial and social responsibility topics. The education component of ICA ties core business principles together for inner city entrepreneurs to access knowledge that facilitate strategic and sustainable growth. The forums provide the space to share best practices, lessons learned, and network. Presenters come from ICA’s business advisors, local universities, and other consulting firms.
3. Value Add Resources
Professional Service Providers
ICA has developed a talented network of Profession Service Providers that is made accessible to Portfolio Companies. ICA may recommend Professional Service Providers to assist Portfolio Companies when the work is beyond the scope of ICA Advising. These are services that can include work in:

- Legal transactions

- Real-estate negotiations

The Professional Service Providers in our network provide a value add to businesses by providing services for free or for substantial discounts to ICA Portfolio Companies.

Through partnerships with the local universities and research institutions, ICA offers its Portfolio Companies access to relevant research as well as internship opportunities from local business school programs.
Collaborations and Networks Support
ICA connects Portfolio Companies with other local organizations, institutions, and businesses that supplement ICA’s work to support business growth in the inner city. We have multiple events throughout the year that provide businesses with opportunities to network and further develop connections in the community.

ICA highlights all of its Portfolio Companies whenever possible, including its Annual Inner City 100 Awards Breakfast, its Annual Business Reception, in quarterly newsletters, on the website, recognition and leadership opportunities.
